This trip will be based round a river clean up, which we do every year. It will probably be on the Taw or Torridge, so an easy river with much flood debris likely.
We will take both of the open boats as ‘skips’ so we need a couple of volunteers to paddle those. Most people will be in kayaks to gain access to the rubbish. If Andy T can get us a supply of black bags then we can bag up stuff for later disposal. It’s quite a bit of fun and polishes up our environmental credentials, as well as cleaning up a beautiful stretch of river. Cameras needed to record the effort and an article written for the local paper.
You will need rubber gloves or equivalent to handle river refuse. Some folding saws may help with small branches but great care will be needed with fallen trees and fast currents.
Hope you can make it!
