Two Star Course
The new BCU 2 Star is a comprehensive award which covers the full range of strokes, rescues and background knowledge you need to be a proficient member of a group trip. This year the Club is organizing a weekly session on Tuesday evenings, starting on 3 April.
Winter Trip Programme
The club has an extensive winter trip programme that should offer something for most paddlers.
Volunteering Opportunity at Sponsored Swim
The annual BBC Radio Devon Appeal sponsored swim is taking place on Sunday 18th September 2011. This unique event, now in its second year offers a great opportunity for serious and fun swimmers alike to raise money for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT).
Commitment to ClubMark
Bideford Canoe Club has embarked on a jouney to attain ClubMark status. ClubMark is Sport England's national accreditation scheme for high quality junior sports clubs.
First Aid Training
The club has arranged for a 16 hour First Aid course on the 29/30 October 2011 and there are places available.
Sign Up for Summer Two Star Course
Jody and Nicole are running the 2 star course this year for the Club. The idea is to run it on a similar structure to last year's course, over 8-10 weeks with the last sessions being the assessment. The dates we have got in mind so far are the 13th, 20th, 28th of June, 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th July and 1st August. A separate day for assessment would then follow.
Club Gets New Website
Bideford Canoe Club now has a new home on the web. The Club's website has had a facelift and now has a new look along with many more features and additional information.
